UN Humanitarian, UNESCO Chiefs visit South Sudan

United Nations Humanitarian Chief and United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace and Reconciliation are expected to visit South Sudan from Friday to Monday to assess the situation people face in the current conflict.
 
In a statement CRN obtained on Thursday, Valerie Amos and Forest Whitaker would highlight the urgent need for peace and stability.
 
They are expected to meet with crisis-affected communities, senior government officials and humanitarian partners to discuss ways of improving the humanitarian operation in South Sudan.
