Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese is conducting a week-long youth congress at St Mary Yambio Parish starting on Monday under the theme: ‘Youth arise and walk for peace’.
Diocesan Acting Youth Coordinator Jackcelia Ebere said they are inviting 25 choir members from each of the 19 parishes and youth from communities around Yambio between 18 and 40 years old, Radio Anisa reported.
Diocesan Youth Chaplain Fr Gamboripai William said the congress is expected to discuss peace and reconciliation, self reliance, pastoral life and the role of youth taking the example of the life of St Don Bosco.
He explained that every evening, young people organize traditional dances and all parishes will go for Catholic Church music competition.
Fr William said the youth congress that to attract more than 500 youth is expected to end on February 15 with big festival.
