Yei Town Water and Sanitation Services Company Managing Director on Thursday told retailers to avoid overcharging communities.

Samuel Taban told them to sell one jerrycan of water at the cost of one South Sudanese Pound and not two Pounds, Radio Easter reported.

Town Block Deputy Director Lily Felix said the authority would take measures against those selling a jerrycan of water at two Pounds.

One of the retailers said he did not increase to two Pounds because normal price at the kiosks remains unchanged.

The retailer urged authorities to arrest those selling water at unrecognized price.
