Uganda Peace Support team leader said SPLM/A in Opposition is dedicated and willing to go an extra mile to ensure peace and tranquillity in South Sudan.
In a statement, CRN obtained from Uganda Media Centre, General Salim Saleh arranged a meeting between President Yoweri Museveni and Opposition team led by Deputy Chairman General Alfred Ladu Gore to push for conflict resolution in a negotiated settlement.
The statement added that President Museveni discussed with the Opposition team including External Relations Chairman Dr Dhiew Mathok, Information and Public Relations Chairman Mabior Garang de Mabior, Ambassador Otim David and National Security Secretary Colonel Elijah Tut over peace efforts in South Sudan.
Uganda team coordinator Ndiwalana Herbert said their strong conviction is to use dialogue, but not guns to settle the conflict.
Mabior Garang de Mabior said their meeting with President Museveni is a preparation for a scheduled meeting with their leader Dr Riek Machar to explore prospects of peace in South Sudan, describing the meeting successful.
