Lainya HIV AIDS Focal Counselor on Tuesday urged the state government to open up more antiretroviral or ARV treatment centres in the county to ease access of people living with that virus.
Tabu Joseph A’bure told Radio Easter in a telephone that South Sudan Red Cross normally collects drugs from Yei and carries them on mobile clinics basis.
He cited difficulties in conducting more awareness campaign due to lack of budget.
Mr Joseph said Lainya County has 190 people living with HIV responding to treatment, decrying low turn up of citizens to free testing.
He noted that men mostly use their wives to know status than going for test.
The official urged citizens go for test to know their status, take treatment and desist from stigma.
