Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan or ECSSS bishops are convening in the Diocese of Kajo-Keji for five days to discuss ways of church intervention in poverty eradication, development, reconciliation and inculcating peace spirit in the minds of South Sudanese.
Kajo-Keji County Press Secretary Amule Charles attended the bishops’ conference opening session on Thursday and told CRN that host Bishop Anthony Dangasuk Poggo expressed gratitude for hosting the bishops’ annual conference expected to breed development projects.
The Press Secretary added that over four thousand people welcomed more than 40 bishops at Kajo-Keji County Airstrip on Thursday.
Mr Charles reported that ECSSS Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul who was among the pouring guests at Kajo-Keji airstrip said the church has no boundary and that they would remain one in service with the Sudanese bishops.
He added that the first time Anglican bishops’ conference in Kajo-Keji attracted senior government figures among others; Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs Mark Lote’de, Finance Minister Aggrey Tisa Sabuni, Housing Minister Catherine Juan and Central Equatoria State Gender Minister Mary Apai.
