Yei River County Commissioner pledged his local government’s full support to programmes of youths and women from their meagre resources.

Juma David Augustine during his remarks at the closing session of youths three-day conference, said he directed payam Payam directors to avail periodic financial help to young people and women institutions from the county’s 40 percent, Easter Radio reported.

He lamented that he wrote many letters to Juba in search of support to youths’ programme, but that others take long time to materialize and some failing.

Mayoress Oba Cecilia Tito told the youths that in order to succeed, they should know God and commit to self employment rather than wasting time drinking alcohol and chewing marungi.

Rehabilitation and Development Centre Program Manager Mawa George Lazarus called on the state government to ensure that youths’ issues are mainstreamed.

He assured youths’ associations of their readiness to offer financial support.

The Manager said they were negotiating possibilities of shifting services to Western Equatoria state.
