Authorities of Kajo-Keji County of South Sudan and Moyo District of Uganda on Monday resolved that both armies should not be involved into land disputes in the two areas.

The resolution came during a meeting between Moyo District delegation led Resident Commissioner Adingwa John and that of Kajo-Keji County led by Commissioner Henry Kala Sabuni.

County Press Secretary Amule Charles reported that one of the resolutions stressed the need for a joint security committee meeting and security mobile patrols along the border to address the situation.

He said Moyo Residents District Commissioner Adingwa John called for respect for the sovereignty of both countries, calling on the organized forces not to cross the border with guns and uniforms.

The Press Secretary said Kajo-Keji Commissioner Kala Sabuni called for peaceful resolution of border disputes, expressing commitment to ensure that both citizens stay in peace until border demarcation takes place.

Citizens of Kajo-Keji and Moyo develop poor relationship during the rainy season over land due to fertile soil for cultivation.
