Warrap State Information Minister said his government does not support the massive call for federal system of governance in South Sudan, though he acknowledges its usefulness.

Paul Dhel Gum told graduating students of the University of Bahr El-Ghazal on Sunday that federalism is a good system, but it would be too early to adopt it in the country, Voice of Hope reported.

The Minister demanded for centralized system.

Mr Dhel claimed that South Sudan is too illiterate to govern by federalism.

He criticised federalism advocates as prophets of disintegration, saying some Payam Directors and County commissioners never attained higher education.

The call for federal system of governance has gained marginal support from Equatoria and Upper Nile regions.
