Yei Mayoress said the Municipal authority is expected to take radical measures to fight individuals spreading garbage in the town leading to poor sanitation.
Oba Cecilia Tito warned that they would deal with traders and citizens who failed to put their garbage in sacks or containers in front of their shops or homes, Easter Radio reported.
She urged citizens to clean roads near their places, telling them to stop throwing rubbish on road sides.
The Mayoress said the garbage heaps in the town would soon be collected and taken away because the dumping site was ready.
Ms Cecilia called on citizens to use rubbish pits or burn them to reduce heaps in the town.
