Yei Deputy Mayor on Tuesday urged chiefs in the six quarter councils to avail enough land for the construction of modern butchery to feed the public with clean meat.
Silvano Ali Sanguson told citizens that investors’ were ready to construct a modern slaughter house if the chiefs availed enough land, Easter Radio reported.
He decried lack of meat inspection and the unhealthy slaughtering ground, producing disgusting smell forcing communities around to stop butchers’ operation.
Mr Ali added that butchers at the moment slaughter cattle in their own places without being inspected.
The Deputy Mayor was addressing heads of departments’ meeting on Tuesday.
