Over 20, 000 people flee fresh fighting in Nuba Mountains

More than 20 thousand civilians at Abri in Dalami County of Nuba Mountains reportedly fled on Sunday following fresh attacks by Sudan government militias.
 
SPLM-N spokesman for the negotiating team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Mubarak Ardol told Voice of Peace via e-mail that Janjanweed destroyed villages in Abri forcing huge number of civilians to flee the area.
 
He said the attack happened amidst efforts for peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
 
The Khartoum government earlier vowed to end insurgency in South Kordofan, moving several forces into the Nuba Mountains region.
 
Sudan Armed Forces on Monday reportedly killed three children in a single shelling at Tungoli in Dalami County, wounding their parents.
