A Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Juba on Saturday urged all South Sudanese especially youths to repent before God.
Fr Alfred Lodu Modi who presided over Young Christian Student or YCS Movement prayer for peace at St Joseph Parish in Juba said the new nation is bleeding because humankind does not want to confess, Bakhita Radio reported.
He urged the youths to pray and uphold their faith by reading the Bible to understand the word of God.
Fr Lodu said if people speak the truth, there would be no fighting among South Sudan communities.
The clergy told the faithful that people angered God by being sinful.
Juba Catholic Archdiocesan YCS Moderator James Ezekiel said the prayer was to bring peace to the new nation following the December 15 incident.
He advised the people to forgive, love and help each other during difficult moments.
Mr Ezekiel urged Christians, youths and all communities to pray for peace in the country.
