Hundreds of Christians on Saturday who gathered at Juba Christians Centre or JCC to pray and fast for peace urged the warring parties to use words not guns for discussion.
The one-day prayer and fasting was under the theme: ‘Turn from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it’
Rev Alamin Yahuza Samuel said the church was praying for all the people including Riek Machar and the government for God to intervene and change their hearts to avoid lost of lives.
He said the church preaches the message of peace and discouraged the spirit of division among people because all are brothers and sisters.
Juan Mary Murye said guns would not achieve peace, but only result to great destruction.
She said it was through dialogue that CPA was signed, after few years people forgot and quickly resorted to guns.
Ms Mary said sword could not bring peace saying it was God to bring peace.
Rev Daniel Deng Anhiang said their tool was to pray to God to bring an end to killing, looting and destruction for peace and harmony to prevail.
