UNMISS to launch book entitled ‘a shared struggle

United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS will on Monday launch a book entitled ‘A Shared Struggle: The People and Cultures of South Sudan.’
 
The book written by the head of UNMISS Hilde Johnson included footage of the history of the struggle of the South Sudanese people that were published.
 
It displays the rich cultural diversity of South Sudanese and provides snapshots of stories from all communities of the country.
 
A statement issued on Friday said this publication is the result of a one-year collaboration between the national Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and UNMISS. 
 
It said ‘A shared struggle’ aims to promote interest throughout the world in South Sudan, its history and diversity, seen through the eyes of its citizens. 
 
The statement added that book is also a call to all South Sudanese to celebrate their hard won freedom, recognize their common destiny to build a stronger nation through unity in diversity. 
 
Vice President of the Republic James Wani Igga is expected to address the launching ceremony.
 
Other dignitaries expected include Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports Nadia Arop Dudi and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Jok Madut Jok.
