The United Nation Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS in Yei on Friday condemned sexual exploitation and abuses in the country.
UNMISS Coordinator Mamane Moussa told the crowd in Yei during a campaign against sexual exploitation and abuses that the Mission was against such practices, Easter Radio reported.
He added that if one of its police was found committing sexual exploitation and abuses, the Mission would immediately investigate and send him home and will never again serve in any UN mission.
Yei Mayoress Oba Cecilia Tito thanked UNMISS for choosing Yei for the sexual exploitation and abuses campaign.
She said marungi, alcohol and marijuana compelled some young people to commit violence, sexual exploitation and abuses.
The Mayoress announced that they banned any importation of marungi and opium.
She warned that any person found using these harmful drugs would be arrested.
The Mayoress advocated for a sexual exploitation and abuses-free society.
The campaign against sexual exploitation and abuses was part of the sixteen days of activism against gender-based violence and human rights day on December 10.
