The Red Cross is welcoming volunteers regardless of their age, ethnicity, sex, religious belief or disability.
South Sudan Red Cross Management Officer Alex Modoyi told journalists in Juba on Thursday that volunteers are the backbone of the humanitarian organization.
Mr Modoyi appealed to people to join the Red Cross as volunteers in order to serve the needy.
He added that the Red Cross involved volunteers in numerous activities including disaster management, restoring family links, water and sanitation and food security.
Mr Modoyi explained that whenever there was an emergency or outbreak, Red Cross volunteers were ready to respond.
He said the Red Cross had branches in the ten states of South Sudan.
