A health official called for outreach programs to access rural communities in order to increase awareness and prevent the spread of HIV.
Acting Health Coordinator for Caritas Torit Margaret Pacho observed the need to reach out to sensitize the people on Aids at their respective areas.
She encourages HIV Aids outreach teams made of specialists to conduct awareness to provide counselling and testing.
Ms Pacho noted positive response from the communities especially men, during outreach services.
The acting health coordinator said outreach programs took services closer to the people wherever they were on their duties and leisure.
Ms Pacho said health officials needed to use all the available opportunities and approaches to tackle HIV Aids instead of centralizing services at health centres.
She suggested that outreach health teams carried kits for spot testing to provide quick services to the people.
Ms Pacho was talking to Emmanuel Radio on Wednesday after a training on monitoring and evaluation of curative, preventive and supportive health services.
Heads of health facilities, clinical officers, senior nurses, administrators and medical superintendents working at Caritas Torit health facilities attended the training.
