The national government planned to build roads linking the ten states to oil fields to reduce importation of the oil from neighbouring countries.
Transport, Road and Bridges Undersecretary Gabriel Makur Amuor said the country was not using it own oil because it transports the crude oil to the international market via pipeline to Port Sudan Bakhita Radio reported.
Mr Makur said they would implement the policy of building roads that connect state capitals to oilfields.
He said after building roads and refineries, the crude oil produce in the West or the East could easily be transported by road through East Africa to the market.
Mr Matur called on interested investors to take part in the construction of roads and submit their proposals to the ministry.
He said the ministry was also planning to build the road connecting Buma to Okello, Pocholla and Pibor and and another connecting Kapoeta to Buma to Rat.
The undersecretary made the remarks on the sideline of the South Sudan Investment Conference in Juba on Thursday.
