The Director of Land and Survey in Tonj South County of Warrap State told people to stop making bricks in residential areas.
Chigok Lual Dut said producing bricks in residential area left big holes which were dangerous during the rainy season, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He revealed that people suffered this year from mosquitoes due to the stagnant waters in holes made by brick makers.
Mr Lual said anyone found making bricks in residential areas would be punished.
He urged the police to take an active role in monitoring brick makers in Tonj town.
Mr Lual said the riverside was the place for bricks making in Tonj.
