The new curriculum for primary and secondary education must represent the national heritage of the South Sudanese citizens.

Deputy Director for curriculum Peter Adum said the directorate was working together with the National Examination Council to set exams, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said they are reviewing the new curriculum to reflect the national heritage and culture.

The official added that it is the right of the country to teach the children from primary to secondary levels in its own curriculum.

Rev Adum said the new curriculum requires collective responsibility because it will influence the life of children and their environment.

He added that the new curriculum will have to make a child a true South Sudanese creative in thinking.

Rev Adum said curriculum review will kick off in November from 25 to 29.
