State minister urges national government to regulate employment

Central Equatoria State minister for Labour and Public Service urged the national government to enact laws that regulate employment in the country.
 
Lilly Kapuki Paul called on the national government to implement laws to enable the state government regulate foreigners employment and give work to locals, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
She called on South Sudanese to get vocational training to be able to offer services in the country.
 
The state minister stressed the need of employing the youth because they liberated the country.
 
Minister Kapuki said most of the work in the country is taken up by the foreigners leaving nationals jobless.
 
She said she laid down strategies to check private sectors including hotels and NGOs to look into their employment records.
 
Minister Kapuki added that the ministry would ensure that most of the private sectors employed 70 percent of the South Sudanese nationals.
 
She said there was also need for the government to construct vocational training structures for nationals to get appropriate skills.
 
Minister Kapuki said the youth unemployment posed a major insecurity threat in the country.
