Yei County Commissioner on Wednesday refused a protest letter written against the appointment of female as Municipality Mayor.
Juma David Augustine told the crowd at Yei Freedom Square that while he was in Juba, he received a phone call about the protest letter against the appointment of the Mayor, Easter Radio reported.
He declined to mention the protesters but called on the people of Yei to respect, accept leaders and give them chance to exercise their skills before protesting.
Commissioner David urged citizens to support Oba Cecilia to develop the Municipality.
The Commissioner called on all citizens to support the Mayor to beef up security because it was a collective responsibility.
Yei Municipality Mayor Oba said she would not take the letter a bad thing because many men do not want responsibility given to women.
She pointed out that people who protested against her appointment as a Mayor include those not appointed by the state Governor.
The Mayor pledged to work together with those who hate and love her for the development of the Municipality.
Ms Oba said her administration in collaboration with the county authority would start on Thursday a tour to know Yei Payam boarder lines.
