Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator strongly condemned rampant violence in South Sudan.

Monsignor Thomas Oliha was saddened by the brutal killing of Nimule Paramount Chief in Magwi County of Eastern Equatoria state by unknown attackers on Sunday night, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Apostolic Administrator described the killing of the late chief George Ajogo Levia as unfortunate, saying he preached about peace in St Patrick’s Parish-Nimule.

He said killings occur everyday in the country with some victims being foreigners.

Monsignor Oliha lamented that the killings were due to rampant insecurity in the country.

He asked the government to end insecurity for people to live in peace and harmony to realize development.

The Apostolic Administrator pointed out that killings and suffering of the people were enough because they started during the liberation struggle days over 50 years ago.

Monsignor Oliha appealed to South Sudanese to show solidarity and welcome their brothers and sisters from the neighbouring Countries.
