A population analyst urged national government to repatriate South Sudanese in Sudan before population and housing census in the country.
Vinansio Tombe Muludiang said if South Sudanese can be repatriated they would be incorporated into the coming census and the country will benefit from their experiences economically.
He called for the repatriation of those willing to return home, but not to force those unwilling saying they would be counted in Sudan as foreigners.
National Bureau of Statistics chairperson Isaiah Chol Aruai said they lack funds for conducting the coming census.
He said the Bureau needs 92 million US dollars to conduct the census.
Chol said the government failed to pay 19 million US dollars it pledged and that donors did not yet send in their money for the exercise.
He indicated that the census may not take place in 2014 as expected.
UNICEF Deputy Representative Pelucy Ntambirweki said the organisation needs data for planning to know the number of children in and out of school and the number of teachers in the country.
She warned that planning without knowledge will put vulnerable groups at disadvantage in the population.
Government and development partners need data through census for effective planning and service delivery.
