The UN Refugee Agency or UNHCR in Wau assisted 700 children less than five years to process nationality certificates.
Chairman of the Volunteers at UNHCR Arkangelo Thomas revealed that the Agency began second phase of the program to assist 700 children with nationality certificates, Voice of Hope reported.
He added that the Agency and the Network assisted in the first phase 584 children from vulnerable, orphan and poor families in seven different residential areas in Wau.
Mr Thomas said lack of commitment from fathers was the biggest challenge facing them, but that mothers were supporting by regularly witnessing their children.
He also disclosed that the Agency is carrying out assessments to assist 200 children in the third phase.
UNHCR asked parents to pay only 20 South Sudanese Pounds to support the program.
