National Chamber of Commerce called on the government to come up with policies and laws for regulating tax collection in the country.
The Chamber Secretary-General Simon Akuei Deng urged the government to control illegal tax collection, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said they caught some customs officers illegally collecting taxes with unspecified receipts some cheating traders at check points.
DR Akuei urged the new cabinet to resolve the problem so that traders do not pay several taxes.
Tourism Secretary-General Gabriel Mabior said three levels of government: national, state and county impose taxes and it was not clear whre the money goes.
He complained that the government should identify one legal body that collects taxes in the country.
Mr Mabior said they will sit down with traders and come up with resolutions to address tax collections.
Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Tourism and Hospitality brought together 50 hotels owners in Juba to tackle illegal tax collection.
