Foreign communities resident in Yei River County on Saturday formed a council to bring together all their members for easy resolution of their problems.

Uganda’s community vice-chairperson of Badaru Freda said the council will meet every two months to monitor activities of the illegal immigrants, Easter Radio reported.

She said the council would help communities resolve their problems amicably through county authorities support.

Yei River County Commissioner Juma David Augustine said all the foreign communities will chair the council in a periodical and rotational way.

He said the Congolese community chairman will lead the first executive meeting scheduled to take place on August 31.

Commissioner Juma said the meeting aimed to bridge the gap between the different foreign communities and the government.

He said the meeting also aimed to make foreigners give periodic reports to the county authorities.
