No health law in South Sudan

There is not a single law regulating health operations in South Sudan.
 
Health Undersecretary Matur Makur Koryom said there are 11 draft bills sitting in the Justice Ministry waiting to be tabled at the National Legislative Assembly, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He said until the law comes into force no law is regulating the health sector.
 
Dr Makur urged the Justice Ministry to fine-tune the health draft bill to regulate health operations in the country. 
 
He said at the moment there is only Food and Drug Control Bill.
 
Health Minister Michael Milly Hussein said absence of law made Church leaders to criticize the use of contraceptives and condoms. 
 
He said the ministry is facing many difficulties from various communities and the Church.
 
South Sudan needs urgently laws that control the quality of private clinics and pharmacies.
