Residents of Pibor, in Jonglei State, returned home from their hiding places after fleeing in fear of David Yau Yau rebels’ threats to attack the area.
South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission Chairperson Peter Lam said the Government called on the citizens to return to their towns to receive humanitarian aid, Bakhita Radio reported.
Mr Lam announced that 500 civilians have returned to Pibor from the bushes, but 666 were still in hiding.
The Relief and Rehabilitation chief explained that the conflict in Jonglei is worrying but did not stop the Government’s development efforts in other parts of the country.
