Twenty-five communities in Yei County River on Friday attended a mobilization meeting to prepare for the second independence anniversary celebrations.

Yei County Traditional Dances chairperson Hillary Juma Iseke explained that the meeting focused on the review of last years’ activities and other issues related to motivation.

He said various communities will colour the celebration with their different traditional dances.

Mr Juma appealed to the representatives to go and mobilize their respective communities.

He called on the communities of South Sudan and other neighbouring countries to peacefully celebrate the second independence anniversary.

Mr Juma gave the go-ahead to the Kakwa community to prepare for its traditional dances for the second independence anniversary.

He said Commissioner Juma David Augustine said the Kakwa issue was a different issue and had no connection with the event.

Kakwa community representatives welcomed the green light stressing that they were ready to prepare for the celebration.

Debate arose when Kakwa representatives in the meeting asked about the suspension of Kakwa community activities following the arrest of their chiefs.
