SPLA-North forces defeated and captured Sudan Armed Forces or SAF base at Ambir in Rashad Locality of South Kordofan.
Spokesperson Arnu Ngutulu Lodi on Thursday said the action was a retaliation to SAF air attacks against civilians in the area.
He claimed that SPLA-N killed 24 Sudan Armed Forces soldiers and wounded several others in the battle.
Mr Lodi added that SPLA-N lost two fighters and 13 injured.
The spokesperson said SPLA-N forces captured several trucks, Land Cruisers and a number of artillery cannons.
Mr Lodi said SPLA-N will continue to attack SAF bases.
