Five heads of state confirmed their presence in the celebrations of South Sudan’s second anniversary of independence.
Abdon Agau, the secretary general of the government, told the press on Wednesday that the presidents of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia and Botswana confirmed their presence in Juba on Tuesday, July 9.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn should also attend the event.
Mr Agau said he hoped that Sudan would send a representation to the celebrations although Khartoum was not responding to the invitation sent by organizing committee.
The Government earmarked 29 million pounds for the celebration.
Juba is undergoing an extensive cleaning operation to host the national celebrations of the second anniversary of independence.
