Western Equatoria Minister for General Education on Wednesday visited schools in Nzara County sensitizing people on the importance of education.
Pia Philip Michael told the communities of Nzara and Ringasi that it is their responsibilities to support education, own it and ensure that their children attend classes regularly, Anisa Radio reported.
He said the role of the Government is to facilitate education by providing what the communities cannot afford like teachers, buildings and furniture.
Minister Pia donated 24 pair of shoes to girls in Nzara Secondary School, plus some footballs and an Encyclopedia for the school.
He promised to buy a bicycle to the Ringasi Payam Education Administrator Lino Kuku to facilitate his movement to Nzara County and construct a primary school in Ngbambia where many IDPs settled with many children.
Nzara County Commissioner Elia Richard Box thanked the Minister for his hard work towards education.
He urged the communities of Nzara and Ringasi to support their children in school and monitor the progress of their learning to see if they get the quality education they deserve.
