The Department of Forestry in Yei River County, Central Equatoria State, started distributing more than 500 seedlings of silky oak trees to the business community and institutions within the town in an effort to keep the environment clean and green.
Speaking to Radio Easter, Assistant Commissioner for Forestry Kennedy Alfred Swaka urged shop owners to be responsible for the wellbeing of their seedlings.
Last month, Yei River County authorities launched the tree plantation project to control environmental degradation in the area.
