A soldier shot and killed a 16-year old boy in Hai Fahal, Wau, on Wednesday evening.
The boy was shot in the left leg and at the stomach and bled to death.
The boy’s mother, Hawa Dongus Osman, told Voice of Hope that the soldier made some disturbances in the area. Then he went home and brought a gun around 7:00 MP, and shot her son.
She said that they took the boy to Wau Teaching Hospital but medical personnel refused to nurse his wounds.
The family struggled hard to find a health facility operating in evening in Wau Town in order to stop the bleeding and when they reached the Army Hospital in Grinti, it was too late
Mama Hawa said the boy did not have anything to do with the shooter.
She added the shooter was arrested and taken to Division Five headquarters in Grinti.
After the incident security and police personnel stormed the area.
Mama Hawa was very annoyed questioning the government over the widespread presence of weapons in residential areas being used against civilians.
Voice of Hope could not reach the state police commissioner to comment or give more details about the shooting.
