Training of reproductive health service providers concluded on Thursday in Torit, Eastern Equatoria state.
Director for HIV and other sexual transmitted infections in the ministry Richard Ochak said the four-day training covered a range of topics on sexually transmitted infections, HIV counselling and testing, community mobilization skills, community advocacy and the use of anti retroviral drugs, Emmanuel Radio reported.Mr Ochak explained that issues of rape, gender based violence and youth friendly services are some of the areas that drew participants’ attention.
He said trainees came from Ikwotos, Imotong, Hiyala, Kudo, Torit State Hospital and the Police, SPLA Medical Corps and Military Hospital.
Mr Ochak called on the youth to seek service on reproductive health from the trained service providers.
He explained that the reproductive health workers will operate outreach services on advocacy, reproductive health, family planning and HIV AIDS.
International HIV AIDS Alliance organized the training on reproductive health rights and HIV AIDS.
