TONJ REPORTS TWO GUINEA WORM CASES

The New Guinea worm centre in Tonj South county of Warrap State reported two people are affected by the worm.

Guinea Worm Centre Director Peter Malook told Don Bosco Radio that they admitted two people with the worm at the new centre.

He urged the people of Tonj to fight the worm by coming to the centre when they experience symptoms.

Mr Malook said the guinea worm is a very dangerous disease that affects especially children and old people.

Nurse Dora Daisa said the staff has been moving in the county, payams and bomas to treat cases of guinea worm.

She advised the people with guinea worm not to go into the water because the guinea worms spread by vomiting in water.

Ms Daisa urged the people to report all cases of guinea worm to the centre for treatment.
