Cattle raiding violence affected over 17 thousand people in Upper Nile and Unity states.
A report from an inter-agency assessment on the May 18 cattle raid in Ulang County said 7,500 people were directly affected by the violence in seven villages in Kurmout Payam, UNOCHA South Sudan said.Twenty-eight people were killed.
The displaced sought refuge across the river Sobat, where they have integrated with host communities.
Another 5,700 people fled from Ulang Central Payam towards Ulang and Baliet counties in Upper Nile State.
Most were already displaced by inter-communal violence in Nyirol County of Jonglei State in February.
The displaced are in urgent need of food and household items, including fishing gear.
In Unity State, ongoing inter-communal violence and cattle raiding displaced 4,700 people.
Repeated clashes over the past weeks at Boaw Payam, Koch County killed 28 people.
Bauth Boma in Boaw Payam is reportedly deserted as residents fled the insecurity.
Army and police reinforced their presence in the area to end violence.
