The Magistrate presiding over Wau North Court on Friday morning heard testimonies of five defence witnesses over the alleged involvement of four Prison officers on December’s deadly violence.
Two witnesses were women and three men, Voice of Hope reported.The four Prison officers are accused of participation in protest, instigation of violence and disobedience among other charges.
Before the hearing, CID officers got into an argument with the Court Police over their different mandates and procedures.
Last week, the judge decided to drop ten charges against the defendants, leaving some with three and others four charges each.
The hearing of 11 State Police Officers charged with seven offenses including instigation of violence and disobedience was postponed to Wednesday due to the absence of Government legal advisors and the accuser.
Colonel Sabino Dominic, Major Isaac Ilario, five First Lieutenants, including one a woman, and four junior staff are among the 11 Police officers.
