Western Equatoria Land Alliance Committee visited Rii-Bodo Boma on Thursday to sensitize the community on the importance of land registration.

Team Leader Maku Albert said they wanted to meet the elders, chiefs, women’s group and youth to teach them about the importance of land for the community, Anisa Radio reported.

He explained that land registration was very important because it gave the owner enough time to develop it and prevent land grabbing or border disputes between neighbours.

Mr Maku said if their visit to Rii-Bodo was successful, they would extend the program to other Payams and Bomas.

Head chief Mirayorebende of Rii-bodo expressed his happiness to welcome the Land Alliance Committee and urged them to support the community.
