Sub Chief of Iloli village petitioned Eastern Equatoria Governor over animals stolen by a neighbouring village that have not been recovered.
Arkangelo Orissa complained in a ten-page letter to Governor Louis Lobong Lojore that raiders from neighbouring Logurunyu village attacked Iloli early this month and parted with over 720 heads of cattle, Radio Emmanuel reported.Accompanied by representatives of women, elders and the youth, chief Orissa told Governor Lobong that the police managed to recover only 141 animals while over 580 were still in the hands of the raiders.
Mr Orissa added that the neighbouring villages have ever attacked his people over 20 times in the last three years without any action from the governments.
He requested the state government to ensure the reaming animals raided last month are returned and to compel eight suspects arrested for killing one herdsman from his village to pay compensation.
Governor Lobong assured the chief that the eight suspects who killed a man in Iloli village will be arrested.
He advised the people to desist from revenge attacks, saying individuals suspected of committing crimes are liable to face the court of law.
