WAU AUTHORITIES LIFT THREE MONTH CURFEW

Western Bahr el Ghazal Security Committee has started this week the gradual lifting a curfew imposed following the deadly December violence.

Wau Town Mayor Michael Gaeba explained to Voice of Hope Radio that the curfew was imposed to stop all movement from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM in order to combat the violence that was happening in the state.

He added that the State Security Committee resolved to lift the curfew gradually saying that the move came after a close review of the security situation in the state.

Mr Gaeba described the security situation in Wau as stable and that the lifting of curfew will ease people’s daily life.

The Wau Mayor urged citizens to contribute effectively in continuation of security stability in the town and the state by respecting laws and helping security organs to fulfil their mandate.
