Twenty-one police officers were dismissed last week after the Police Court in Juba found them guilty of gross misconduct.
Police spokesperson James Monday Enoka told press that the service set up emergency police courts in the ten states and one in Juba.He said 21 police officers were dismissed and another three will follow suit after serving prison sentences.
Colonel Monday added that nine officers were acquitted.
He said the dismissals were a warning to officers that the police was serious about weeding out wrong elements from its ranks.
Colonel Monday said some shanty areas including Gudele, Kor William and Rock City were notorious security headaches but the rest of Juba was secure.
Last week, an army soldier shot dead an armed police officer in uniform trying to attack his house in Gudele Block 8.
