Two police officers and one civilian were killed on Tuesday in Mile 14, Northern Bahr El Ghazal, when Reizigat Arabs attacked the disputed area.
The National Police spokesperson James Monday Enoka told journalists in Juba that the police condemned the attack and called on the African Union Verification and Monitoring Team to take action.He said the heavily armed Reizigat tribesmen took advantage of SPLA’s withdrawal and stomped the area.
Colonel Monday said the police were deployed in Mile 14 area to protect civilians after the army withdrew following a security agreement with Sudan.
He added that the South Sudan Police Service was committed to the implementation of the nine cooperation agreements signed by South Sudan and Sudan.
