The heads of state in Greater Bahr El Ghazal met on Saturday in Aweil, Northern Bahr El Ghazal, for a leadership consultative conference under the theme “Together we can build a secure and peaceful Greater Bahr El Ghazal region for stability.”
The conference addressed issues on how the three states of Bahr El-Ghazal could unite for the common good of the region, Western Bahr El Ghazal governor’s press officer reported to Voice of Hope.Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan of Western Bahr El Ghazal stressed the importance of developing the SPLM leadership in the four states in order to build the country.
He pointed out that misunderstandings in his state party secretariat have to be resolved.
Governor Paul Malong of Northern Bahr El-Ghazal called upon the leadership of the four states to unite and stand behind President Salva Kiir in preparation for the coming SPLM Convention due to take place in May.
He stated that there was need for the four states to build good relationships to provide security in the region.
Lakes State was represented by security advisor Santo Domitch and Warrap state by security advisor Paul Mawut.
The leaders agreed to form a reconciliation team in Western Bahr El Ghazal as soon as possible.
