An angry client set a Torit lodge on fire Sunday morning causing losses worthy of thousands of Pounds

The fire that reduced Victoria and D-3 lodges and a part of Nyang & Sons restaurant to ashes is believed to have been set by a man following disagreement with a prostitute.

Torit police crime officer Adelio Oliha Olilir told Radio Emmanuel on the phone that the suspect arsonist was identified as Mr Opoka.

He said the suspect torched a lodge room he slept in with a sex worker identified as Amony Agnes, whom he accused of stealing his money.

Mr Opoka registered a case of theft at the police but detectives could not find any evidence to incriminate the suspect and released.

The crime officer said Opoka came to set the lodge on fire in retaliation.

Nyang Deny, owner of Nyang & Son restaurant, told Radio Emmanuel a similar version of the arson adding that the man could have used a petrol bomb to set the room on fire.

Samuel Chol Anthony, proprietor of Victoria Lodge, who witnessed the firestorm, narrated the ordeal.

The two suspects, Ms Agnes and Mr Opoka, were arrested following the fire to help police investors.

Ms Agnes was later released while Mr Opoka remained in police detention.
