Young people need guides which can help them to make right decisions in life but not to decide for them.

This is the view Miriam Duggan, a Behaviour Change Program Manager from the Franciscan Missionaries of Africa, shared with Voice of Hope.

The sister is facilitating a three-day workshop in Wau attended by more than 20 young people.

Sr Duggan said the workshop aimed at helping young people make right decisions.

She pointed out that young people need to be informed which behaviour puts their life at risk and how they can come out of it instead of telling them what to do.

Sr Duggan said some forms of behaviour like drinking, drugs and immorality risk young people to get sexually transmitted diseases or STDs.

She called on the young to live a responsible life by taking right decisions.

She said this was the way to build a great future.

Sr Duggan is in Wau or some pastoral work and to visit the sisters of her congregation.
