The Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement or SPLM is calling on the citizens to take an active role in the building of South Sudan.
The call came when the SPLM Deputy Secretary-General, Dr. Anne Itto Leonardo, announced the extraordinary convention scheduled for February 25 in Juba, Bakhita Radio reported.She said the participation of the civil society organizations, media and other political parties will help the ruling party establish policies that would help the country prosper.
Dr Itto explained that the party realized the importance of listening to the citizens’ views and complaints for resolution.
She said last May the SPLM members collected complains from the grassroots including poor economy, poor education system and lack of agricultural tools.
Dr Itto urged other political parties and members of the civil society organisations to help the party tackle all these problems.
Major problems facing citizens in South Sudan include status of economy, education, health and agriculture.
