South Sudan Farmers Association has called on the Government to put some money to assist local farmers to produce more food and avert food insecurity in the country.
Aggrey Ezbon Idri, head of Farmers Association told Reporters on Thursday in Juba that the Government should assist farmers and put guarantee to enable farmers access money from the financial institutions.This came after Mr Ezbon announced that American and Netherlands Governments have given in some money in loan to assist local farmers in South Sudan.
He said the government should give to the local farmers, the bigger share of the funds.
Mr Ezbon called on the Government and other development partners to help farmers’ efforts to secure food for South Sudanese.
The Farmers Association on Wednesday held its first meeting to present their achievements and challenges in the last few years.
